About Us

Spirit of the Sound was founded in May 2010 under the direction of Eric O’del as a community of musicians who sing together as a spiritual practice. Not affiliated with any one religion or denomination, this mixed voice, adult choir are currently Artists In Residence at Seattle Unity Church, and have performed at numerous local spiritual communities. In November of 2010 the choir was featured in the sold-out “Celebration of the Tree of Life”, an interfaith performance event at St. Mark’s Cathedral, and in Gospel Fest at St. Luke’s of Bellevue.

He was a founding member of the Seattle Men’s Chorus, the largest GALA choir in the United States, and directed the group’s first small ensemble, the Gentlemen’s Harmony League. He was the Music Ministry Director of Center for Spiritual Living for 15 years, where he directed the 90 voice Choir of Light, composed music and produced concerts, CD recording projects, out of state choir tours, the Seattle Sacred Music Festival and Christmas and Easter services in Seattle’s Symphony Hall.
